Michael is an industry leader in Restructuring and Strategic Advisory and a Director of Pitcher Partners Advisory (SA) Pty Ltd. His repertoire of skills spans financial modelling, business process management, policy and procedure review, feasibility studies, community engagement, economic and social profiling and cost benefit analysis.
Michael has a passion for the wine industry and is personally involved in his own wine business. His intimate knowledge of Australia’s wine industry has helped many wine industry clients improve their business operations. Michael has also previously been involved with a wine infrastructure fund listed on the ASX and also a large privately owned wine bottling, storage, labelling, warehousing and distribution company.

Michael’s vast experience in strategic advisory has led to working on a number of significant projects over the course of his remarkable career. He has undertaken extensive financial investigations into company affairs on behalf of various stakeholders and is highly skilled in the review of management controls, workout strategies, debt and group restructuring.
Michael spent eleven years in corporate finance and corporate recovery at Price Waterhouse before establishing Weir & Basedow in 1997. He then joined Pitcher Partners Adelaide in 2008 as Principal, inaugurating the firm’s Business Recovery and Insolvency Services division.
