Manager – Private Business and Family Advisory

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Manager to join our Private Business and Family Advisory (PBFA) Division at our Brisbane CBD office. In this role, you will work closely with PBFA Partners and Directors to deliver various taxation, financial, and business advisory services.
You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse and interesting client base including listed companies across a broad range of industries. You will lead and mentor your team of passionate accountants by fostering a culture of professional development, upskilling, and expanding technical knowledge.
You will also co-manage our broader PBFA resource pool to help streamline and deliver proficient client outcomes. Through this position, responsiveness is key, as added flexibility is given to manage output while working remotely and in the office.
Key components of your new role:
- Prepare and be integral to complex accounting and taxation engagements.
- Be a regular point of contact for your clients, ensuring consistency in exceptional client service.
- Providing leadership and guidance to an expanding and talented team of accounting professionals.
Relevant skills
As the ideal candidate, you will be degree-qualified and having completed your CA/CPA qualification. With relevant expertise as a Manager in a business advisory environment, you will have:
- Ability to understand client needs and exhibit a high level of client service.
- Advanced accounting technical knowledge, including application of accounting standards and compiling consolidated financial statements (in a private clients setting).
- Ability to effectively manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
- Advanced knowledge in areas of taxation.
- Exposure to taxation consolidation is an advantage.
- Ability to use, navigate and troubleshoot common client accounting software packages (i.e. MYOB and Xero), and larger enterprise products (an advantage).
- Well-refined oral and written communication skills
- Comprehensive Microsoft Excel skills and ability to efficiently work with large datasets.
- Adaptable to engage a wide range of growing clients.
- Outstanding attention to detail and time management.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to integrate with the team and collaborate effectively.
