About the team
Pitcher Partners has one of the largest insolvency teams in Melbourne, led by five experienced and skilled insolvency practitioners. We are an ethical and high-quality practice providing the full range of corporate and personal insolvency services, underpinned by the commitment of the highest level of financial investigation and recovery skills to the small and medium-sized enterprise market.
About the role
You will join a supportive and energetic team environment of around 45 staff, focusing on formal corporate insolvency engagements including voluntary administrations, receiverships and liquidations. These engagements may involve the trading and sale of a business, carrying out an investigation, detecting fraudulent conduct, identifying misconduct and criminal behaviour, and recovering assets wherever they are located.
Key responsibilities
- Application of insolvency statutory frameworks
- Leading formal corporate insolvency engagements, including reporting to appointees and management of the engagement team
- Performance of investigations and recovery of assets
- Complex financial analysis
- Working with clients to provide advice on a range of matters including unfair preference defences, expert witness reports/litigation support, and negotiation with insolvency firms
Who we’re after

- Extensive corporate insolvency experience (over 8 years), including experience in leading business trade-on assignments, including voluntary administrations and/or receiverships
- Experience in large-scale assignments and complex corporate insolvency matters
- At least two years’ experience working as a Manager with such an environment
- Experience managing and mentoring junior staff members
