About the team 

Our Investment Advisory practice provides a broad service including advice, monitoring, reporting and administration to a wide variety of clients, from high-net-worth individuals to institutional and not-for-profit clients. We cover a large range of asset classes and investment products, including listed securities and managed funds.

About the role 

As part of the investment research team, the Investment Analyst – Managed Funds Research, will provide research coverage of managed funds across various asset classes, conducting sector reviews and monitoring the performance & positioning of approved investments. This role involves evaluating fund performance, investment strategies and market positioning to identify high-quality investment opportunities. The analyst will develop research reports, investment recommendations, and insights on investment products and market trends.

The ultimate purpose is to enhance managed fund portfolios by delivering well-researched, data-driven insights and recommendations, contributing to the firm’s investment objectives and client value. Additionally, the role involves developing and maintaining research processes and ensuring compliance obligations are met.

Key responsibilities 

  • Conduct thorough qualitative and quantitative analysis of managed funds across multiple asset classes, evaluating fund performance, management strategies, and market positioning
  • Analysis of statutory accounts, financial forecasts, and company valuations
  • Identify and select funds that meet specific criteria and investment objectives
  • Continuously monitor the performance and risk metrics of selected funds
  • Prepare detailed research reports, investment recommendations, and fund reviews
  • Ensure compliance with internal documentation standards and regulatory requirements
  • Present research findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in the preparation of client presentations and investment proposals

Who we’re after

  • Related tertiary qualifications within a finance or economic related discipline and experience working within a investment analysis or financial research role
  • Working towards completing CFA, CIMA or CAIA studies will be highly regarded
  • You can communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels, while working cohesively alongside all members of the investment research team.
