Advisor – Risk Advisory Services

About the role

Pitcher Partners Brisbane’s Risk Advisory Team offers a comprehensive range of services (including internal audit, risk management, process improvement and compliance) solutions to help our clients navigate challenges, drive improvements, and seize opportunities. The Risk Advisory Team works with a diverse range of clients across the public and private sectors.

We are seeking a motivated Advisor to join our growing Risk Advisory Services team in Brisbane. This permanent, full-time role provides the opportunity to work with a broad range of clients to address their key risks and provide value.

Your client portfolio will include public sector organisations, not-for-profits, and private businesses, offering exposure to a variety of industries and challenges. 

Key responsibilities

The Advisor will assist the team in conducting engagements. The Advisor will work in consultation with the Senior Advisor / Manager on the following:

  • Conduct internal audits for clients across various sectors and write internal audit reports.
  • Complete audit procedures, including sample-based testing and data analysis and undertake process discussions with clients.
  • Identify clients’ key risks, controls and processes.
  • As part of performing the audit procedures, help identify observations and potential improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to the client.
  • Perform financial audits over infrastructure projects and report non-compliances.
  • Assist on other risk advisory engagements, including risk management reviews, business continuity management, process area reviews, etc.
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities and contributing to proposals.

Who we’re after

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven professional who is passionate about internal audit and risk management. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Some understanding of key business processes, risk and controls.
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills and usage of Microsoft Excel is desirable.
  • High verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with clients and write business reports.
  • Experience working in a corporate or professional work environment (internal audit experience is desirable).
  • A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, commerce or finance is desirable.
