Insolvency Accountant - Graduate, Intermediate or Senior

Your new role

An opportunity now exists for a full-time, experienced accounting professional to join a premier Insolvency team.

In this role you will:

  • be involved in a variety of insolvency jobs in both personal bankruptcy and corporate administrations including liquidations, receiverships and voluntary administrations;
  • assist with medium to large and more complex assignments;
  • work closely with other areas of the firm to provide trusted specialist advice to their clients; and
  • assist in the supervision and mentoring of graduates.

What you bring

Commercially astute with the ability to develop strong relations, you will be tertiary qualified in business, accounting, finance or law.

To be successful in this role, your communications skills, integrity and trust will be paramount, coupled with your focus and commitment to clients. You will possess exceptional analytical and report writing skills with a consultative style and manner.

Assistant Manager - Audit & Assurance

Your new role

Working with the Audit Partners, the Assistant Manager will maintain and care for a group of Audit clients and provide support and review for qualified and unqualified team members. Care for the delegation of work and provide responsibility for high level assignments. Provide audit and assurance services to clients.

  • 50% hands on auditing and 50% managerial responsibility for smaller, non-complex clients.
  • Managing a portfolio of engagements to ensure they are completed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for contributing towards high level work for review from a diverse client base in the middle market including listed entities and large proprietary companies.
  • Displays appropriate knowledge and understanding of client’s business to develop an appropriate audit approach in compliance with Pitcher Partner’s Global Focus Audit Methodology.
  • Efficient and effective identification of key risk areas and accounting technical matters.
  • Both preparation and review of General and Special Purpose Financial Statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Involvement in planning phase of audit appropriate to level.
  • Accountable for the efficient evaluation of results of testing and appropriate resolution of errors.
  • Clear briefing of staff on job requirements.
  • Establishes and/or confirms budgets.
  • Assistance with non-audit engagements, including due diligence, other advisory services (including consulting) and litigation support.
  • Drafts invoices and follows up with debtors.
  • Identify areas requiring improvement in the clients’ business processes and possible recommendations and prepare and deliver these to clients.
  • Supervision and mentoring of junior and intermediate personnel.
  • Conduct Internal training sessions.

What you bring

  • CA/CPA Qualified | Minimum 4 years of audit experience ideally from a Big 4 or mid-tier firm.
  • Exemplary technical audit knowledge with exposure to tax and advisory services.
  • Broad commercial expertise and judgment | Analytical | High attention to detail.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills as frequent client interaction, often dealing with more senior members of client staff.
  • Understanding of clients and our business, suggesting ways we can improve the clients or our own business or procedures.
  • Able to write technical letters and reports with assistance.
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Recent experience in an Australian firm with listed companies.

Senior Accountant - Audit & Assurance

Your new role

An opportunity is available for a full-time Senior Accountant to join our Perth Audit and Assurance team.  This role will primarily provide accurate and timely audit services to our clients and assistance to the Audit and Assurance team.

  • Responsible for contributing towards high level work for review from a diverse client base in the middle market including listed entities and large proprietary companies.
  • Displays appropriate knowledge and understanding of client’s business to assist in developing an appropriate audit approach in compliance with Pitcher Partner’s Global Focus Audit Methodology.
  • Read, understand and follow audit planning memo and audit program.
  • Involvement in the planning phase of audit appropriate to level, developing audit plans as required.
  • Undertake field work for financial and compliance audits including interim and final testing.
  • Prepare work papers in accordance with Audit Methodology, preparation of clear and concise reports.
  • Fully utilise Audit software program Caseware and advise junior staff on usage.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements.
  • Prepare basic tax computations.
  • Apply computer simulations and computer assisted techniques in performing audit engagements.
  • Draft technical memo's for manager and partner review.
  • Provide feedback to staff on a regular basis during and at completion of assignments. 
  • Liaise with Managers to ensure jobs are reviewed and completed on time. 
  • Assistance with non-audit engagements, including due diligence, other advisory services (including consulting) and litigation support.
  • Supervision of junior personnel.

What you bring

  • CA/CPA Qualified | Minimum 3 years of audit experience ideally from a Big 4 or mid-tier firm, with first time pass results.
  • Thorough working knowledge of accounting standards and tax, as well as a detailed understanding of the audit process and audit risk assessment.
  • Ability to prepare work paper files in accordance with firm and divisional standards and train junior staff in this regard.
  • Proven ability to delegate lower level work to junior staff where it is cost effective.
  • Recent experience in an Australian firm with listed companies.
