SMSF – Senior Accountant

About the role

With direct exposure to a number of Partners, our Accountants work within dynamic teams and have access to mentoring and a range of clients. Reporting to a Manager and Partner within our Superannuation Division, you will be a collaborative team player and deliver a range of Superannuation services for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Complete SMSF annual accounts and returns independently and within the agreed timeframe and budget
• Commitment to broadening skills to become a SMSF specialist
• Have a strong teamwork approach and be involved in training and mentoring junior staff
• Strong understanding of SIS Act and regulations
• Initial reviews of SMSF information and data
• Responsible for a list of SMSF clients
• The ability to delegate with ownership and responsibility

Relevant skills

As the ideal candidate, you will have a Business degree majoring in Accounting or Commerce and have completed your CA/CPA qualification, and have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role in professional services. With relevant experience as a SMSF Accountant, you will be able to demonstrate:

• SMSF technical knowledge and accounting skills
• Ability to integrate with a team and collaborate effectively
• Demonstrated ability to understand client needs and tailoring service
• High level of analytical and problem-solving ability
• Outstanding attention to detail and time management
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to meet deadlines
