Hugh has over 35 years of experience in chartered accounting and specialises in superannuation, retirement and estate planning, administration of self-managed funds and business investment and structuring. His experience spans a range of clients including investors, medical and health care specialists, property and construction and professional practices.
Hugh utilises his strong relationships with lawyers, actuaries and other professional advisors to ensure his clients receive the best support for their retirement and estate planning needs. He works in union with financial planners for the review of financial advice, especially in relation to wealth creation and wealth protection.
With a passion for educating others, Hugh regularly presents at public superannuation seminars and leads private tutorials for SME accounting firms and various professional bodies. This has helped solidify his notable position in the accounting industry.
Additionally, Hugh offers assistance with business restructuring issues that have resulted from changes to taxation rules and the ATO interpretation of distribution of income and capital from trusts and other entities. For example; assisting trustees of self-managed superannuation funds with reviews initiated by the ATO and successfully resolving compliance issues, managing payroll tax audits by office of state revenue for medium size enterprises and assisting with submissions to finance major fixed assets acquisitions including cost of finance comparisons of tax outcomes
