Derek has over 17 years of experience advising his clients on how best to grow and protect their superannuation investment for retirement and succession. He’s also a chartered accountant and has a Diploma of Financial Planning.
As a self-managed superannuation adviser and a Specialist Member of the SMSF Association, Derek provides strategic and technical advice to make sure his client’s funds are set up correctly to allow them control over and flexibility in their investments and to achieve their overall financial goals.
Clients value Derek’s focus on giving them control over how and where they invest their wealth to ensure their portfolio is structured in way that helps them meet their unique objectives. He believes members should be able to invest their capital in assets they’re comfortable with, whether that’s property, the share market, term deposits, or a combination of different assets.
Also committed to providing live information and transparency, Derek and his team have implemented live reporting technology so that his clients can see everything that’s going on with their superannuation on a daily basis. His experience in the industry also means Derek can help his clients navigate the changing regulatory landscape in the sector as well.
Having managed superannuation for his clients throughout his career to date, Derek has worked with some of Australia’s leading middle-market firms. He joined DFK Crosbie in 2012 and became a partner of the firm in July 2014. He remains a partner of the firm following the merge of DFK Crosbie and Pitcher Partners Newcastle and Hunter to unite under the Pitcher Partners brand in late 2021.
