Joining Pitcher Partners in 2008, Andrew has worked with private business and high net worth individual clients on a range of taxation and advisory matters. He became a partner of the Melbourne firm in 2021.
A key focus in Andrew’s work is taking the time to ask questions and understand his clients so that he can consider their broader long-term objectives when he’s providing advice. Quite often, clients come to Andrew with a specific question, but understanding the bigger picture allows him to provide more tailored advice and solutions to better support the objectives that they’re trying to achieve, whilst drawing on the support of other specialists across the firm as required.
As a firm that works directly with private and family-owned businesses, Andrew enjoys providing advice and support to people whose livelihoods are built around their business. Further, working with the families behind these businesses on their private and family wealth advisory means that Andrew provides a holistic view when advising clients.
Succession and estate planning are two areas of particular interest to Andrew as he enjoys thinking about the long-term direction of a business and its owners. He works with his clients to consider their long-term objectives, assess the alternatives and formulate an effective plan for a smooth transition of businesses and wealth between generations. Seeing families establish, grow, and preserve their legacy is one of the most rewarding aspects of Andrew’s work.
As he has progressed throughout his career, Andrew has learnt the importance of balancing his career, client work and developing people – three areas that are central to being a well-rounded leader. The ability to build strong client relationships and foster a supportive firm culture sets Pitcher Partners apart, which is a key reason Andrew has continued to enjoy his career with the firm.
