Stephen is a specialist in audit, risk management and assurance. As the Director of Pitcher Partners Corporate Finance, he leads a team undertaking IPOs, listing, due diligence, structuring, financial reporting and buying and selling businesses.
Stephen relishes the challenge of corporate finance engagements and company audits. He has advised and assisted a broad range of listed and large private companies on their International Financial Reporting Standards obligations and requirements. Stephen also works with a number of large family clients and is immersed in their businesses as a trusted advisor who offers solutions beyond the scope of audit, from remuneration to provision for staff.
As a Partner, Stephen appreciates the perspective that being a business owner can give him when working with clients. Knowing that every dollar private families spend is directly from their own pockets gives him a greater appreciation for the imperative to deliver advice and projects that add value and are timely and cost-effective. He is renowned for his dedication to delivering on his commitments and going above and beyond for clients.
For close to a decade, Stephen was the Chairman of the Baker Tilly Asia Pacific Audit Committee. Today, he and his team are connected by personal relationships to experts across the Asia Pacific region. This means being able to quickly resolve international issues and offer assistance abroad. Stephen has devised conferences for professionals in the network, including a Collaboration Summit bringing together experts in corporate finance, risk, audit and accounting.
Stephen joined Pitcher Partners as a graduate in July 1993 when the firm was still a fresh face on the Australian accounting scene. He has diversified his experience and skill set with positions in Big 4 firms both here and in the UK but has always been drawn back by Pitcher Partners’ dedication to outstanding client service.
