This national business, with some exports to New Zealand, is a manufacturer, wholesaler and distributor of smallgoods products. Its distribution network includes supermarkets, wholesalers, delicatessens and butchers as well as its own small distribution business.

A cost effective valuation

In 2012, it achieved revenues of $130 million and employed approximately 400 people.

The client needed to restructure and in order to meet ATO obligations, required a valuation to ensure it could demonstrate a market value was placed on the assets being transferred.

The company invited Pitcher Partners to undertake the valuation as it was confident it could rely on the firm to deliver a cost effective valuation that was technically sound and commercially robust.

The client was provided with the comfort that the restructure was undertaken at arm’s length and that the transaction could be fully defended to the ATO.
