Profile of an Intern

Lorina – Previous Intern – Business Advisory and Assurance

Describe what sort of work you were exposed to during your intern placement.
Being part of the Business Assurance and Advisory (BAA) division at Pitcher Partners gave me exposure to a variety of tasks such as audit procedures, completing tax returns, BAS statements, preparing financial statements and other administrative duties. This broad exposure provided a great learning experience.

What were the highlights of the intern placement?

  • The ability to associate with a wide range of people, both co-workers and clients.
  • The firm’s friendly environment, in particular, the 'open-door' policy which definitely facilitated my transition from university to the corporate world.
  • Work-life balance in the form of weekly social events and participation in various corporate sporting events.
  • The national graduate training program held in Queensland, which provided a great opportunity to liaise with other graduates and obtain some sound technical knowledge as well.

Would you recommend the Pitcher Partners intern program to other students?
Most definitely. The intern program provides a unique opportunity to gain useful practical knowledge and consolidate the theory learnt at university. Pitcher Partners is a very welcoming environment which provides the assistance and experience required to kick-start a successful accounting career.

What next for Lorina?
Lorina was successful in receiving an offer to return to Pitcher Partners after completing her final year of University.

How do I apply for the Intern Program?

All candidates will need to apply via our current vacancies page. The online application requires candidates to upload their resume and academic transcript.
